Today, ACE Tours, a new Jacksonville-based arts and cultural organization, announced it will present a series of weekly pop-up outdoor art exhibitions in local city parks every Thursday evening throughout June 2021.
The touring series, On the Fence, is the inaugural Adaptive Cultural Experience (ACE) for the organization, and features new and recent work of ten accomplished core artists from Northeast Florida. The “Open Air Art Gallery Experience” features four individual one-evening, pop-up style shows utilizing the existing infrastructure of local parks for showcasing the work. All shows are open to the public from 5:00 p.m. until dusk (8:00 p.m.) and are weather dependent. Locations are:
- Thursday, June 3 at Wiley Road Park, 6750 Wiley Road, 32210
- Thursday, June 10 at Klutho Park, 204 West 3rd Street, 32206
- Thursday, June 17 at Burnett Park, 3740 Burnett Park Road, 32257
- Thursday, June 24 at Isle of Palms Park, 3780 Eunice Road, 32250
“The sheer size of Jacksonville is a unique branding element of our city,” said event co-organizer Chaz. Bäck. “But it can also be challenging for residents. We believe consistent cultural exhibitions can help unify Jacksonville’s many communities.”
“No one should miss out on great art and culture because they live too far away from an exhibition for it to be a fun and convenient experience. We believe that locally touring exhibits promote a more integrated cultural identity for the city and for the people of Jacksonville.”
